Ithaca 37 DeerSlayer Barrel?

Hi, I bought a older Ithaca 37 12ga shotgun & would like to have a Deerslayer barrel to go on it. Does anybody know what year the gun has to be made in to change the barrels? Thanks

  Serial # 855,000 and higher have interchangable barrels. Before that # they have to be fit to the gun. It was about 1963.
