High Standard Serial #
Just took in an LW100 (.22 short) that has serial # on slide but not on frame. Is this right or are these old eyes fooling me and its hidden somewhere on the frame?

The Flite King LW-100 is serial numbered on the right side of the slide and on top of the frame beside the hammer - you must remove the slide to see the number on the frame.

And right you are! Thank you very much -- I had pulled the grips and the barrel but had not removed the slide...

In looking at the serialization charts (Blue Book -- with noted thanks to John J. Stimson, Jr.) it seems that the serial number on the LW100 in question (approx. 928000) is about two years above the 'year of manufacture' range given for the model in the BB valuation listings.

You are correct, there are a couple dozen Flite King LW-100 pistols listed on the factory records sheet beginning 928,000 through 928,999. It is probably a typo on my part although what I sent the Blue Book has typo's at that end also.
Most of the Flite Kings on this page shipped February through May 1959 with one straggler in September 1959.
The factory price lists list this model as in the 1960 list but not the 1961 list.
I will try to get this corrected in the next Blue Book. Gun data is just a work in progress that changes as we notice our errors or discover variations.
Thanks for the tip. It has lead me to search for the latest serial numbers for the three different versions that latest I have found so far is 4.50" (9103) 1,090,206 (1960), 6.75" (9104) 1,131,844 (1960), and combination with both barrels (9105) 1,039,117 (1959)

Sorry for not being specific on the first go-round...
actual serial is 927923 and it has the two barrels; the brown-top box is poor and probably not original, has no end labels and is not marked HS although the gold bottom/insert does match-up. No papers etc but the pistol is excellent -- assumption is that it is not a factory combination.

927,923 shipped as a 9105 on 4/19/59 so this was a factory combination and not one made up later.
