380 ammo choice? No jams PLEASE!!

Hey guys. Give me some guidance on brand and choice of ammo to shoot through my pea shooter. Colt Pocketlite.

Shot up a few rounds and killed me a critter tonight so I need some more ammo. Took a few extra rounds as it was dark and a mag light was the site picture. Did have a jam which I cleared and finished the task. Don't worry it was a varmit I put down.

It is the "car" gun.

    I have owned a pocketlite for years and never have had a jam. What kind of ammo were you using?

    I have a Mustang that I carry Cor-Bon in. I have put about 100rds of that through it with no problems. I have also put several hundred rounds of handloads through it. I dont know how much time you have spent shooting yours but if it has been awhile since I have fired mine, I sometimes end up hitting the slide lock up [xx(] with my thumb. That reminds me................... I need to go shoot some more this weekend [:D]

    Lellier & Bellot FMJ 92 grns. bought at Cabalas.

    I bought the colt used from a friend and I don't think he ever cleaned it. It jammed when I got it, and I cleaned the dickin's out of it and it was fine with this ammo until tonight when I needed it. Fortunately I had the stopping shot off before it jammed

    Maybe it just needs another through cleaning???

    Little expensive but the Federal Hydra-Shok is all I shoot in my .380 .

    I have carried either a Colt Mustang or a Walther PPKS in .380 ACP for many years, because they are very concealable when nothing must show. I use different ammo in each of them because of feed reliability; what the Walther likes, the Colt won't always feed with 100% reliability, etc. I consider the caliber rock-bottom minimum, and prefer a .45 ACP when I can. But, reliability of a protection pistol is the first and foremost consideration, the pistol must go BANG each and every time. I recommend you experiment and find what will give total feed reliability first and foremost, with consideration for bullet performance a second criteria. Don't forget to examine your grip of the pistol to allow the recoil to activate the mechanism. I have never used either for hunting or pest control, but carry only for serious social purposes.

    HYDRA SHOK or Gold Dot. Never a problem. Practice with UMC when shooting a few hundred rounds with an occational mis-feed in my Bersa. Beretta handles anything.

    Try some Santa Barbara Spanish .380. They are stiff loads and feed well.

    both my bersa and sig 232 shoot winchester sxt 380 very well.never jammed with it

    Is it possible you limp wristed the last shot? That may be the real cause of the jam.

    I am going to try to slip one in here before the Captain has Scotty beam a lock on the topic.

    I am going to vote with "rsnyder55". If that wrist wasn't "locked-up" on that last shot --- she will jam.

    I going to vote with "ripley16" on the Hydra-Shock and Gold Dot.
