BSA Scopes, Good, Bad, Indifferent???

I was wondering what most gun owners think of BSA scopes? I bought one for my M1 carbine. Are they any good? Anybody have trouble with them? If so, what should I look for that could give me trouble? I haven't heard of BSA ever, exception the"BSA" motorcycle!!

    They are average low end scopes made in China.

    I've tried three of them. The 6-24x40 Platnium was a good enough scope, and the top of their line, but I couldn't get used to the target dot cross hairs and so I sold it off when I got the chance to get most of my money back out of it. I tried one of their 3x9x40 midrange scopes with the target turrets and it is still kicking around here somewhere. I mostly use it for new rifles which I haven't bought a good scope for yet. I tried one of their other 3x9x40 midprice scopes and was glad to be rid of it as it had lousy glass in it. The edges were all fuzzy and it didn't adjust very well. So as far as what you've bought, good luck, you'll either be happy with it or you won't be. I stay away from them now because I know of no service dept which I can send a bad scope back to if I have problems. I've had enoungh scopes go bad on me over the years that I now only deal with companies who really stand behind their products, without alot of paperwork and such.

    Hello Yes BSA did build moyorcycles but does "BIMINGHAM SMALL ARMS" ring a bell or am I the only old $%^& they made a bunch of martini 22 target rifles as well as bolt actions centerfire rifles.

    I have used them on rimfire guns because of the low recoil and less chance of breakage. The site on my 6-18x40 is clear. I don't trust them enough to put on a centerfire gun, although I have no proof that it wouldn't work or last on centerfire.

    Different BSA. BSA scopes are all made in China. buddy of mine had one of their Red Dots that was a POS. Would no thold zero at all.

    Their warrany blows also [V] My brother sent 1 in a year ago and still hasn't got it back,(pistol scope)

    NYforester put it concisely and accurately. You can do better in the same price range, or save a little longer for better altogher.

    Perry Shooter, it is indeed a different company. I rode a Triumph and the electrics were no better.

    Most of the ones I've seen are JUNK right out of the box.
    I put a 36 X on a rifle for a friend, and you couldn't see through the darn thing
    unless it was broad daylight and you had a flashlight.
    Save your money !!!!!!

    Birmingham Small Artms and BSA are the same company. They do not make firearms any more. I'm not sure what they make these days.
