Open a 260 chamber to 6.5-06 with finishing reamer

can I open a new 260 rem barrel to 6.5-06 with just a finishing reamer? Do I need a rougher, it will be just a 1 time deal.

  Finish or rougher doesn't matter. A finish reamer will cut a great chamber from start to finish without using a rougher.
  
  The first thing that you should do, is measure the diameter of the shoulder and its position from the rim (length) on the .260 Rem. Then transfer that over to an '06 case and see if the dimensions will clean up. You can do the same thing with the reamers but you have to start at the junction of the neck and shoulder to get good dimensions.
  
  Your biggest problem will be getting and keeping the 6.5-06 reamer in the center of the existing chamber and not getting significant chatter. The pilot will be unsupported for a short distance, so keep that in mind as you feed the reamer.
