handgun id

carman
1911 style 45 semi auto. On left side of slide is: 11.25mm aut. pistol m/1914, the two lines with a diamond in the center, serial number 19****. On right side of slide is stamped 1928 then under that is two K`s. The trigger the safty and the barrel all have matching serial numbers. Could someone tell me who made this gun and value.     Sounds like an Argentine Colt copy.

    It's a Model 1914 Norwegian Colt. It's chambered for the standard .45 ACP Cartridge. A total of 32874 were made in the Kongsberg Arsenal between 1915 and 1987. Value would depend on condition. Post some pictures so that we can give you a idea of its value.

    I think the gun may have British Proof marks. A crown with a 7 and a crown with an R
    I don`t know how to include pictures.

    No offense sir, but your photo leaves a lot to be desired. It's hard to tell if it has the original finish, or if there's any pitting on the pistol? The only thing I can categoricly say is that the grips aren't original. They look to be ex GI, plastic grips as used on are W W II produced 1911A1's. Years back I had a Norwegian made in the late 20's, similar to yours. The double diamond wooden grips were made from a light colored wood that were stained black.
