Hungarian/Romanian M44 VS Russian M44

this was asked 5 years back and only 1 answer .

i have a Russian m44 and a chance to get a 1953 Hungarian m44

any thing to look out for , 1 better then the other,

gun im looking at is in great condition non matching numbers[:(]
no import marks.

good blue left.

  Hello everyone.
  
  I'm a total novice to guns, etc. Actually I dont' even own a firearm but I am seriously interested in purchasing one. A friend of mine shot a M44 and was telling me how great of guns they were, etc. I've noticed on GunBroker.com that the Hungarian/Romanian models are CHEAP like scary cheap, where as the Russian ones are more expensive.....why is that?

  While you can find one of these M44s in a wide price range, most of them are very cheap. Being a novice you need to know that the surplus ammo. you also can buy cheap is corrosive. This is no problem if you can find someone to show you how to clean your barrel after shooting your rifle. Bassically you use dish detergent or something with hot water and wash it pout before standard cleaning to "kill" corrosive primers, which can ruin your barrel after one shot if not cleaned properly. I have owned serval of these rifles and if you can find a place to shoot them, (there LOUD), they are about as much fun as you can have. As you can see, im not an expert but no one had answered you question yet. OH, and if you find one of the Finnish mosins laying around cheap, grab it.
