Cleaning ruger 10-22

I had a 10-22 long ago and just aquired another (the wal mart full stock version. It is filthy. Unfortunatly didnt get manual with it. Is it a fairly simple process to field strip? Or will springs fly?

  The 10/22 is fairly simple to strip without launching parts and pieces across your garage.
  
  Here is a link to the Ruger manual for the 10/22. Take a look at it before disassembly.
