Black Powder accuracy report
Put the 1.5X5 Burris fullfield on the TC Encore 24X209 BP barrel last night.
Today; sighting in at 100 yards using two Pyrodex 45/50 pellets a .40 cal 180 gr. Hornaday XP and Knight sabot's Winchester 209 primers (20 year old stock) across sand bags.
Best group a three shot clover leaf centered 1.5" high on a orange 1" dot. Best five shots were around two inches, center to center.
Shot the steel gong at 168 yards and hit it every time.
I never cleaned between shots for 26 rounds. Towards the end of shooting the bullets were hard to start but went home OK after the first 4 inches was passed.
Clean up was five minutes in the kitchen sink, (wife not home [:D]) in hot soapy water. Ran a few strokes with a brush followed by a few patches. Everything is clean.
Modern BP rifles are GREAT!!!!
