T/C Encore accuracy
Has anyone had much experience with the T/C Encore rifle barrels as to accuracy. Can I expect similar results as opposed to a good bolt action. I'll load for it so if they are close I can tweak the load. No particular caliber I was just wondering about the accuracy of factory barrels.

buddy of mine has one with a 26"bull barrel in 25-06 , he claims he can hit 1 gal. milk jugs at 500 yards off of the brench , I have one in 22-250 and it will shoot just under one inch at 100 yards , I've never had the chance to try in on paper at longer ranges so really can say how tight it groups but it seems to do very well 0 -
Glad you asked that question. My 26" SS heavy barrel is wearing the Burris 4X14 Balck Diamond Scope now. Tonight it shot a group measuring 1.347 at 200 yards. The laod is mild, 38.3 of IMR 4350 and a 55 Nosler BT.
One secret I have yet to try is to always put the case in the chamber the same. Pick a letter or number on the head stamp and put it at 12:00. It assures the same barrel gap case base orentation for consistent shooting.
If you want to step up to Bench rest Competition they ALL use bolt action rifles that cost big bucks to put together. But for every day bang for your buck the TC Encore is nice.0 -
