Colt 1911 38 super

Hey Folks looking for a little help, I have an option of buying a Colt 1911 in 38 super s/n# 1961xx. also a luger 1914 9mm s/n 8307 both in excellent shape. Would like to know age and worth? Thanx Ed

    He is asking $800.00 for the luger and 700.00 for the colt. He is a retired surgeon and is selling his entire collection. most are new in box never fired. all are pristine condition. he has alot of the winchester 94 commeratives as well as some choice military guns

    The Colt dates to 1968. If NIB, it's a very good deal.

    With out pictures or a very detailed discription of all markings and physical dimensions it hard to appraise the Luger.

    OK , I think the colt has been fired and did not see a box but it looks unfired as does the luger. I will see it for more detail. I looked at over 50 guns of his for sale wrote down somw s/n. but will try to get more details. Thanx Ed

    Value of the Luger depends upon the manufacturer, caliber, finish, bore condition, repairs, matching numbers, magazine, import marking, etc. But, at that price, it would be difficult for you to go wrong.

    Thanx, Looks like I am going to dip into my 401k and have christmas a little early! After all my, $$$$ are doing much in the stock market! I have always believed quality guns go up in value.

    The Luger dates to the First World War. 90 years, 2 Worlds Wars and the Cold War have come and gone since it was made. Trust me, their very few Factory/Arsenal "ORIGINAL UNFIRED" Lugers of that era still floating around.
