? on gas piston

I disassembled the gas tube,to clean, on a yugo I just got
and noticed no gas piston extention or extension spring.[:(] Is it still safe to fire? And where can I get these parts. Thanks, SG

  I would go to where I just got it from. While it won't kill you to fire it, it won't do much good for the weapon.

  Try TAPCO for an operating rod spring.

  I would suggest not firing it. This would cause the piston to go back farther than it is supposed to.
