Springfield XD 40
I bought one of these when on leave from Iraq and fired about 200 rounds through it, i noticed that at 21-25 feet it was pretty accurate but at distances above that the rounds dropped left and down significantly, can these be accurized like other handguns to get tighter groups?

I bought one about a year ago, 4 inch barrel. I polished the feed ramp and that's about it. The more rounds I put through it the more accurate it, and I, became. I have put about 1000 rounds through it now and in the hands of a good shooter, better than me, it will get a 4 inch group at 25 yards. It's rock solid reliable, eats all ammo and performs flawlessly. I know this doesn't answer your question but it's just a little info from someone who owns one.

My guess is that due to the different trigger pull than what you are used to, you are pushing the gun slightly to the left as you pull back on the trigger. Have someone else shoot the gun and see what happens. Try really concentrating on pulling the trigger straight back and I bet your problem will be solved.

Basically they are a fine rugged and accurate gun, good for your intended usage. Work on trigger finger placement and be patient. It takes around 500+ rounds to get a new piece loosen up. Good luck.
