Benelli Nova continued

Like others, I have always used a Semi-Auto shotgun and I am interested in purchasing a Pump shotgun for this season, just to see the difference. I read in Beeramids' postings that the Benelli Nova was one of the best Pumps out there. My question is, is it really as rattly as some say it is ? I like tight action. I don't want to be walking through brush sounding like a rock in a plastic bottle. I really like the looks and reputation of the Benelli shotguns and have bid on one on Gunbroker.com. Just wanted to know if it's got a good tight, well built slide. Thanks guys.

    Stoeger is making a Nova type gun and since its part of the same group of makers as Benelli (beretta) the quality is still up there.

    It is well built but it is going to rattle. Simply go to a gunstore and handle one, you don't even have to shoot it to hear the rattle it makes. If you can live with the rattle it is fine.

    The rattle isn't that bad. If you shake it, it rattles. It is still a great gun. Versatile (2 1/2" to 3 1/2"), able to unload the chamber, easily taken down. I still use my semi-auto for grouse. I use the Nova for pheasant, ducks, geese, and turkey.

    Shellitout - The pump arm rattles some, but I promise you wont sound like rock in a plastic bottle walkin in the woods. The bolt locks up nice and tight and is made from a good heavy piece of steele, the only rattle comes from the pump arm, I guess I've never really thought about it, because its never bothered me. Its never seemed to bother any of the game animals I've taken with it either.

    Seems to me that most pump actions will rattle to some degree. My BPS rattles some, but never bothered me a bit. I have an 870; it also rattles. What pumps out there DON'T rattle?? Or is it just that the Nova is a lot worse than the others?

    My Mossberg 500 never rattled, My Stevens 520's and 620 never rattle.
