When measuring the length or a rifle barrel,do you include the chamber?

    What are the advantages and disadvantages of barrel lenght of a shot- gun lets say the same choke 28" barrel vs 30" barrel???

    As a general rule BBl length effects velocity not accuracy.

    shorter tubes make a more rigid tube,..but you will be hard pressed to find the difference on paper. I assume this rifle is a hunting rifle to have either a 16" or 18" barrel?

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    I agree, it would be difficult to ever measure the difference on paper. There are other factors that would be more important to accuracy than just barrel length. Barrel quality, ammunition quality, the amount of copper and powder fouling in the bore, chamber dimensions, and of course how many rounds have been put through the tube will all play a part. Also there are some rifles that shoot better than others even among those of the same caliber, model number and manufacturer.

    Adverse effects of a shorter barrel in terms of accuracy reflect human error; a shorter sight radius makes it more difficult to shoot a gun accurately. Scopes negate this problem for the most part.

    Save the seals-club a liberal instead.
