extraction problems with Ceiner 22 conversion
It is for a 1911A1. Tends to fail more often on one magazine in particular. I can shoot maybe twenty rounds without a failure to extract, then have it happen four times out of ten. Only tried one brand of ammo with it. Any suggestions? Anyone have simular problems? TIA...Joe

Hi,
The FTE problem can be related to factors. It is possible it is the ammunition, the magazine, or break-in of the conversion itself.
Most 22 conversion units are very picky about the ammunition they will digest. Since this is probably the easiest fix, try out several brands of new ammo. Stay with the hyper-velocity (approx. 1200 fps +-100fps) ammo. A hyper-velocity round is needed to cycle the slide but don't go to the ultra-velocity rounds like stingers.
If that doesn't solve the problem try shooting 500 to 1000 rounds through the unit to hone some of the burrs and sharp edges on the working surfaces.
Finally, try a different magazine if all else fails.
