Retaining Ruger 22 Pistol Trigger pin

I've got a Ruger Mk1 22 pistol that I cannot keep the circlip that retains the trigger pin on. It went missing shortly after I bought it 30 years ago, and has never stayed on since I have replaced it twice. Has anybody else seen this problem?

I'm thinking about replacing the trigger pin and seeing if the retaining circlip will stay on a new pin.

    Replace both parts.And while you are at it,Get a couple extra ones.The day will come when you will not able to buy them anymore.
