Combined Technology Bullets

Anybody using these bullets? How are they for accuracy and bullet retention?

    I went to the Nosler booth at the shotshow and asked their rep the difference between the NOSLER BALLISTIC TIP and the Combined Technology ballistic tip and was told "they dye them black" is the only difference. Nosler makes them and sells them to WINCHESTER and they add their dye and markup in price. The Nosler Bal Tip is noted for accuracy so I would just buy them at the lower price and forget Combined TECH.They are some of the best bullets made in my experience.

    Just buy the regular Nosler Bullets. Some people bless the Moly coating put on them by Winchester and some people damn that Moly coating. Combined Technologies is a partnership between Nosler and Winchester.

    for the record,..it is not moly coating,..it is lubalox (some version of the aforementioned. We have run these in several dozen rifles and they just plain will NOT be the best ammo by any stretch.

    Point and case, I snuck away from work today and went to the range to sight in a pair of savage muzzle loaders. A guy there had just mounted a zeiss to his new browning BAR. He went to work with a box of win supreme with the coated balistic tips and was very disappointed. After convincing him that one bullet would never tell him his rifles ability, he reluctantly bought a box of federal premium naked bullets. VOILA,...under 1" at 100yds. YMMV, but I have yet to see anything more than a very few rifles prefer that bullet.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    I use them in 243 and 25-06. Same exact accuracy as plain noslers but the lubalox cuts the cleaning by 90 percent. never any gilding metal fouling with the black bullet. and maybe, just maybe, a little lower presure and a little more velocity. Been using them for a few years now. I will continue to use them -- "dye them black" the man says -- He was pulling your leg - wouldn't even make sense. Its lubalox and it works
