Scope Crosshairs are fuzzy

I bought a new Howa1500 30-06 and a scope came with it. It is a Bushnell. However, when I look into the scope the cross hairs are always fuzzy and never in focus it seems. Is this normal ?

    The crosshairs can be focused by adjusting the eyepiece. Aim the scope at a blank wall, the sky or some other flat object, then look quickly at the crosshiars and focus them using the eyepiece ring. Don't look too long at the crosshairs while focusing as your eye will adjust to the out of focus condition.

    PJ told you straight. Start with the eyepeice screwed all the way in,..and move it out 1/4 turn at a time until the crosshairs become very sharp and black. Then leave it there. If it doesn't lock, then a small dot on the tube and eyepeice with white-out will let you set it back if it ever gets turned.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    so do you have to focus the eye piece everytime you pick a new target because it always seems to get out of focus when i move it. also, even when i focus the eye piece it goes out again when i start to focus on the target. does it even matter that much if the cross hairs are in perfect focus ?

    Once you focus you should not need to adjust again. Remember, all you are doing is focusing the crosshairs. I guess it isn't the end of the world if they are not perfectly focused.

    cheaper scopes will limit the amount of clarity possible. The objective lense focuses the target,..the ocular lense focuses the crosshairs. You should try to focus the eyepeice while looking at the target and not the crosshairs if you are having problems. You need to have BOTH the target and crosshairs clear and crisp at the same time. If one is and the other isn't,..then one of the lenses needs to be adjusted. I find that the cheaper non-AO scopes will do what you are referring to, so focusing on the target and then adjusting the eyepeice to match is the only way to make them work (also one reason many of them don't have lock rings) It is a PITA, but that is all you get with a low end scope.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
