Surplus State Police Beretta 96
Recently acquired a surplus Rhode island State Police Beretta 96. It's a great semi-auto with some special features, including the grips. And that's my question: What's the rubberized material on the grip panels? I like it but haven't seen it before. Am I wrong in thinking it's a little unusual?

Are they Hogue Grips? They appear to have a pebble look to them. A whole bunch of little rubber bumps?

Yes, kind of grainy-looking, but with the regular Beretta escutcheons on the panels, one kind on each side, just like all Beretta grips. Maybe Hogue made them. They don't have the Hogue finger grooves. 0 -
Your pistol may have a set of "Farrar" grips on it. They were one of the only companies making rubber grips that had the Beretta logo on them.
These grips have the factory "Beretta" three trident logo on the panels and have a non-slip texture (ie - like a refrigerator's surface).
"Pearce Grips" bought the "Farrar" company, but I don't believe that Beretta has given them (Pearce) the rights to use the Beretta logo. And as of yet, Pearce, has not offered any Beretta grips.0 -
I have a pair of non-finger-groove (they don't wrap around, they are just normal panel grips, made of rubber) Hogue grips, with the Beretta logo.

I think pagunparts got it, Farrar grips. They nicely balance one's hold on this full-size Beretta, which is fitted out with Trijicon night sights. 0
