Steyr Hahn, Model 1912

I just received a Steyr Hahn Model 1912, dated 1918.
I don't know anything about them, but price was right, so I bought it.

How do you remove the magazine? I field stripped it, but could not remove the mag. Is the mag removable? It looks like it may be loaded via stripper clips, like a Broomhandle. Does anyone know? Thanks.

  The magazine is charged by stripper clips from the top.

  It fires the 9mm Steyr cartridge which was one of the most powerful catridges available in the day and the bullet was usually steel jacketed and notorious for its penetration capabilities. The gun is loaded with a stripper clip and is locked by a rotating barrel setup which rotates (60 deg IIRC) to unlock the lugs. Be sure to inspect the muzzle area of the barrel, it is thin and some Steyr-Hahns will be found with cracks in the muzzle
