I have a cva Optima 50 cal 1/28 twist, wondering anybody out there had one to? Would like some info on the best loads etc, and other little tricks to make it a thumb tacker. Experience is the best teacher, so that is why I go to the experts like you. Thankyou for time.[?][;)]

Got a cva optima pro 209, when I took the breach plug out the grease was silver in color. Can I use grease out of a grease gun to replace it, what do you recemend.[?] 0 -
I use Rhino Grease, made especially for breech plugs. I think TC makes it and it can be ordered from the TC website. 0 -
If it was silver, it was anti-seize, not grease. You can buy it at a local auto parts store.

I have the same Rifle and use Loctite(brand) Never-seize. Instead of a silver color this is made with copper and is gold in color. CVA makes the exact same stuff that comes from the factory, you may be able to order from their website.
DO NOT shoot it without the never-seize compound on the plug.
Grease would not be sufficent.
Better to carry a pistol and not need it than need a pistol and not have it.0 -
I use the silver stuff made for spark plug threads. About 99 cents at auto parts stores.
