Winchester Model 94 Question
Is a Winchester model 94 30-30 with ser. #29XXXX considered a pre 64? And what would it be worth in very good condition? Thanks

If you are trying to tell me that is a 6-digit serial number in the 290 thousand range, it would have been made in about 1905. If it is really a 7-digit serial number (in the 2.9 million serial range), then it is a post-63 manufactured piece of junk.
I fail to understand why you did not post the entire serial number[?]

Hey, I'm not a gun person! :-) It is a 7 digit. I just left out an X......The guy wants 350.00 for it so by what you are saying it ain't worth it right? 0 -
The first 2 numbers was all I remembered when I looked at it.....I was wanting to buy this for my husbands birthday but didn't know if it was a good deal because I don't know guns. Thanks 0 -

Hello marsye: Well that 7 digit serial number would put it around a 1966/67 Md 94. I agree with Bert that most Post 64 Winchesters aren't that good, however you really didn't give us much to work with. There are some "Special editions" of the 94 that can be worth quite a bit more. Is it just a "standard 94" or one of the Winchester Commemoratives? Those can bring quite a bit of money depending on exactly what it is. An example would be the Nebraska Centenial or the Alaskan Purchase Centennial, both would command more than $350. If it's a standard old 94 of that vintage depending where you are geographically, most likely $150-$225.
