BAR for a lefty - casing throw.

My 15 year old son is seriously considering a BAR 30-06 for his next hunting rifle. He's a lefty and all BARs are right handed. Are there any issues/concerns about the casing ejection pattern as it will cross in front of his face? One dealer told me of a specail wide scope mount that helped deflect the gases (and in turn the casing) in a pattern more friendly to left handed use. Comments, experiences, advice is all welcomed.

    I shoot a 1994 .300 Win Mag BAR Mark II left handed and it is a great rifle. I wrote Browning prior to purchasing the rifle and was told the ejected cases would not be a problem for left handers and they were correct. The cases eject to the side and not back in your face. I'd call Browning [800.333.3288 or 801.876.2711] and confirm this with current production models.
    The BAR II safety can be reversed for left handed use. Also, bare in mind if you purchase a BAR with a BOSS the substantial decrease in recoil results in substantial increase in noise/muzzle blast. You might want to consider purchasing a BOSS-CR [solid] without the muzzle brake feature for hunting to save your ears.
    Glasses should ALWAYS be worn while shooting for safety's sake.

    Thanks for the reply. I'm a bit embarassed in that I never thought to ask Browning themselves! Good suggestion. Any other readers familiar with the wide scope base that "deflects" gases?
