could a silencer work on a revolver??

    Are they as silent as in the movies or is that just for show? I have never fired one and was curious. In addition what is the general life span of a quality silencer? Im trying to figure out if its worth purchasing so I stop pissing off the neighbors.

    I would not call the Surefire the best out there. They claim that it is, but they claim that about alot of their stuff. They also make odd claims such as a silencer making a rifle more accurate because it extends the barrel length?? I would go with an AWC or SRT. SRT is one of the quietest cans that was tested, and also one of the cheapest.

    Direct Action Solutions in Hunt Bch Ca makes an excellent "supressor" but I believe they only sell to the military and law enf.

    You may want to check with your local fish & game in regards to hunting with a suppressor. You may end up paying a heavy price for doing so if it is not legal even though the hardware is properly obtained.
    Just a thought.

    You beat me to it. It is illegal to use a suppressed weapon for hunting in Alabama.

    It is perfectly legal to hunt with a silenced gun in Wisconsin. You need to check local laws.

    EASYGO6- You want a CLEO sign off by the county sherriff, district judge or the district attorney, they will work.

    As I have yet to meet a police chief that will sign off in the past 20+ yrs of class 3.

    Go with a brand name like AAC, Gem-tech or SWR.
    You never know when you may have to send it in for repair.

    Suppressors form Kali, avoid them like the plauge that they are, as they are not allowed to sell outside of Kali due to Kali's laws.

    Most states allow suppressors for vermin, including coyotes, check with your state Wildlife Dept.

    Keep this in mind!!!!!!!!!
    Any caliber above 22 aint that quite!

    The main problem is the bullet going supersonic, and the crack from going supersonic.

    Anything above 22's in a rifle round willl have to loaded to subsonic to avoid the supersonic cracking.

    Pistol calibers seem to work best, but also require special loads to stay subsonic.
