Colt Trooper MK III Frame? Help!!!

Just purchased a fine nickle plated Colt Trooper Mark III .357 Mag. and I want to replace the grips with Pachmayr or Hogue rubber grips instead of the lunky checkered wood that came on it.

Can someone help me with the frame identification? V, D, J, N--which letter fits my frame? I find conflicting references on some of the grip sales websites.

Any help appreciated.[:)][?]

  Gun parts refers to it as a "J" frame.

  No doubt the confusion is that the original Trooper revolver was built on the I-frame (Official Police, Python). The Trooper Mk III is a J-frame.
