40 S&W barrel for the 1006
Does anyone make a 40 S&W barrel for the 1006? I would like to reduce the cost of shooting factory ammo, but don't want to reload. Also, I assumed the rest of the 1006 parts would work fine. Please advise. Thanks.

I hesitate to tell you this, as generally it's a very bad thing to fire ammunition not specifically made for a particular firearm, in it.
That said, I have fired many hundreds of rounds of Winchester White Box, 40 S & W. In my Glock G 20, 10 mm pistol. With no ill effects.
As a semi-auto pistol is a control feed mechanism with the extractor providing positive headspace, ( as long as ammo is fed up through the magazine ). It should function as readily in the S & W as it does in the Glock.

I know there are many conversion barrels for Glocks, Colts, Witness, and other 10mm's to convert them to various calibers including .40 S&W, 9x25 Dillon, .357 SIG, .38 Super, etc. However, I am unaware of any for the S&W line. You might check Barsto, Federal, and a few other top conversion barrel makers. Also, you might have to lighten your recoil spring to shoot the el-cheapo .40 loads too.
Most people that shoot 10mm's shoot them for the power, not for the economy of shooting. I often shoot GeorgiaArms 10mm loads for plinking and DoubleTap loads for pin shoots, hunting, and defense.0
