    It's almost time to start getting ready for the early season...
    I shoot a knight bk 92 with a 26" barrel 1-28 twist.
    For the last number of years I've used a sabotted 45 cal 300gr XTP with a 90 gr equivalent charge of Pyrodex select RS. I'm out of XTP bullets and before I buy more I'm curious if any one has experimented with any of the new bullets that are out there??

    I have been shooting the Power Belt bullets the last couple of years. Good accuracy, no game yet, so I cannot testify how the perform.

    Those 300 grain XTP's are going to be hard to beat......
    (If it aint broke dont fix it )

    My inline is a 54cal Rem 700ML. I use a saboted 44cal 240gr XTP over 110gr of Pyrodex Select and a 340gr Powerbelt over 120gr Pyro Select. The XTP is the most accuate but some states I hunt don't allow sabots. The Powerbelt has accounted for many deer and 2 elk. I only have 1 deer with the XTP. Penetration was awesome with both. The Powerbelts are much easier to load - which I prefer when I'm hunting. There are plenty of combinations out there. If you are confident in your current load than stick with what you know.

    The Barnes Muzzleloader MZ are the best bullet hands down in my humble opinion. They are absolutely accurate(about 1.25" at 100 yards ahead of 100 grains of loose Triple 7), and they are absolutely ugly when they hit a deer. I've shot countless deer with them over the last 10 years, and haven't lost one yet. Last year, my wife shot a 10 point that went over 300 pounds, and it went about 10 yards. His heart was cut in half, and had an exit hole the size of my hand. They are expensive, at least to some people, but too me well worth the extra couple of bucks.

    I am having good luck with DEAD CENTER bullets that are now available from cabelas and scheels. I have used these in knights. thompsons,and these seem to be accurate, easy to load . they also work good on deer. I use 90-100 grains of triple 7 with 200 grain dead centers.
