Bayonet; SWISS; what? when? worth?
I have this item about which I know very little. It's obviously GermanSWISS--see the markings--blade is 11.75"; 16.25" overall. What era is it from? What rifle did it fit? What might it be worth (cleaned up, of course)? Thanks for any help...

Condition has a great effect on value. Sometimes it better to leave thing alone, ( value wise ) rather then taking a powered wire brush or emery cloth to them.0 -

Short pattern Swiss bayonet for the Schmidt-Rubin rifle of 1889. It has a polished steel pommel and crosspiece, and wooden grips secured by two large steel rivits. The blade is straight, single edged and fullered: The scabard is blued steel....Blade length 11 1/2": overall length 16 1/2"...In very Good Condition and with Scabbard worth $125.00...
