High Standard Double Nine
I bought a High Standard Double Nine with leather holster for $200.00
in 2002. It is blue with the ivory grips, it looks like the one in the box. W-104 S/N 1280919. How old is it and did I pay too much?.
What is it approx. value?.

Yeah I have a High Standard "Double Nine" i dont know what year it happens to be but i got it as a gift and i was wondering what it might be worth in value??? I can clearly make out the numbers listed on the side if someone would happen to be able to help me please message back 0 -
1958 - 1970, according to the BB. $180 - $245, is what they value them at.

These revolvers were made with both aluminum and with steel frames and the price varies with the material. The previousy quoted prices were for the aluminum frame version.
The date range for production also varies with material. A serial number will allow me to give a specific ship date.0 -
It is a W-101 and the Ser. # is 1003926. It has some substance to it, hard to believe it is aluminum. It has the black grips and the nickel plate.

JohnStimson, Good information on your sites. These nice little revolvers are hard to find info on sometimes. Here are my two, nickle and blue. I also found a pretty nice Natchez a few years ago at a garage sale for $150.00 which I have since given to my son.

kevie, I'm sorry, but he knows what he's got and is holding on to it. I have since given him the other two Double Nines. I go to a lot of gunshows and it seems that you just rarely see any Double Nines. I did talk to a collector at a local show that had just picked up a Natchez box. Now that's got to be a rare item.

Your Double Nine is probably from 1959 but when I retrun home, I will try to find the exact ship date in the factory records early next week. At that date the frame is aluminum.

Nice revolvers!
The Natchez is harder to come by than most other High Standard Western revolvers. In my experience, the Armamex marked Sentinel made for Col. Rex Applegate's company in Mexico is the least seen High Standard revolver.

"wundudnee" & "JohnStimson" --- if you happen to run across a "Natchez" in reasonably fair condition and you aren't interested in it --- then please drop me an e-mail and let me have a go at it.
I have wanted a "Natchez" forever, but have never been able to find one that was in my price range or that wasn't a piece of junk that was rode hard and put away wet.
