What's the difference between a shotgun scope and a rifle scope?

  Shotgun scopes are usually set to 50 yards. They have magnification power in the 1.5x to 3x range.

  A little more indepth about the 50 yard posting.
  A shotgun scope is generally set to be parallax free at 50 yards, the same as a rimfire scope, and a rifle scope is generally set at about 150.
  A rifle scope on a shotgun is not all that bad, but a shotgun scope on a rifle will lead to accuracy problems at a distance...

  Shotgun has a longer eye relief 4"-6"
