.22 Long Rifle Scope Question
I have a 22 caliber Ruger long rifle which had a scope that broke. I would like to purchase another one and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on the best scope I can get for under $100. I appreciate the help!

The Simmons 22 MAG is a really good scope for the money, altho the crosshairs are a bit thick for my personal taste.
These scope have the parallax corrected to about 50 yards, just about perfect for a 22 LR whereas most scopes are set to over a 100 yards.

Decent scope for the price, but remember the paralax is adjusted for 100 yards instead of 50. It is probably more scope than you need, but heck it is your rifle, your scope and you can get whatever rings your bell. 0 -
One big plus for Simmons/Weaver/Redfied is that they all have a good lifetime waranty. Any scope made by any of those three companies will, for a shipping fee replace any scope that breaks from normal use. They don't even require a waranty card or original receipt. As I consider scope for under $100 as a cra*shoot as to if they work and for how long, then having the replacement waranty is a really good thing. 0 -
So in terms of the 3-9X32 and the 4X32 Simmons scopes, what is everyone's experience with them? Which one would be better for a target rifle used at a range with 50-200 yard targets? 0 -
If I'm shooting at different distances such as the 50-200 yards you state, I'd rather have a variable power scope. And for price, look in a Cabela's catalog. Most of the scopes they sell beat the price I can buy the same item for wholesale. 0 -
Out to 200 yards with a .22? Yer a better shot than me pard. In that case the variable would be the choice. Look at Cabela's scopes, some are pretty good. For good prices on name brands take a look at www.scopesnmore.com and Natchez. Remember that the quality of the scope is reflected in the price and a variable for $100 is not going to be top quality. The optics should be ok, but durability is usually the issue. Iff'n it was me, I would save my nickles and go with Burris or Leupold, iff'n it was me. i'd doubt your accuracy will be anywhere near stellar at 200 yards with a 22 lr. but for $100 you can get a BSA platinum 8-32x or one of their other scopes. it is what i would recommend for decent optics for your price range.

I meant 100 yards. The range I go to has lots of plink targets and also free standing targets at various ranges from 25-100 yards. I'm going to get a Simmons 3-9X32 22 Mag. Thanks for all of the advice fellas. 0 -
I know I will get hammered for this but the best inexpensive .22 scope I have ever used "i now have 4 of them" is Cabelas store brand scope named pine ridge,I do not know who makes them for Cabelas but they are good scopes .they make 2 models just for .22's one is a straight 4x the other is 3-9x,they are 50yrd paralax with fine crosshairs 0
