M1 carbine stock

I purchased an M1 carbine bearing serial numbers that indicate that it was manufactured by Quality Hardware. Barrel is stamped Rock-Ola. The previous owner "sporterized" the stock, so it needs replacement. My question is what stock would be most accurate historically and add the most value to the weapon? Also what is the differance between high and low wall stocks? THANKS!

  3 types of stocks were used by Quality Hardware; the type that would be appropriate depends upon the serial number. If you look at the right side of the carbine, you will see a notch cut out of the handguard near the op rod; if there is a corresponding notch cut out of the stock, it is "low wood", otherwise it is "high wood".
  
  In any case, an original Quality Hardware stock (which will be marked Q-RMC or RMC in the sling well) will be difficult to find. It will be worth great expense only if the rest of the carbine is original & unmolested.
