Ruger Mini-14 Mags
Does anybody know if Ruger is producing 30rd Mini-14 mags in 223. I know that they are hard to find. I found a guy in Columbus, OH that is asking 125 a piece for them. Personally I think he is nuts. Thanks

Rumor is ruger is no longer producing the 30 rounders. 125.00 has been the going rate for a while. I think the 20 rounders hover around the 65.00 mark. I would like to find some good after markets myself.0 -

I counted myself very fortunate to purchase THREE original Ruger 20 rounders recently (still in the box--never used) for $100 total. Don't know it that guy still has any left or not, but I'll check into it for you. [8D]
Oops, I just remembered he was in New Orleans so he may NOT have anything right now--not even a shop. [:(] I'll still try to look into it.

This is in one of the areas that has been flooded since last week. You might wait a while before trying the number--and even then, I don't know if his shop was spared. Any magazines that have set in floodwaters for this length of time might sell real cheap--and be worthless.0 -
I don't have any 30 rounders, and the 20 round mags heat up that narrow barrel up fast. The USA 20 rounders had to be 'adjusted' a good bit to fit right, then didn't work well until an 'adjustment' on the follower. BUT....now those two particular mags work just fine.
I have come to expect problems with aftermarket mags, but maybe my tighter grip on my wallet is the problem.

No OEM Ruger 30rd Mini14 to be had, they stopped making them.
The Ruger LEO only 20rds are running around $28
ProMag's work good 20rd=$15 30rd=$20 40rd=$28
BlackWarriors are also good ones.

CDNNhas some factory mags, I believe in their lastest catologue/ I think the OEM are the best for obvious reasons and if keeping gun would get them/ nambu 0 -
doesn't mec-gar make ruger factory mags? if so,..but mec-gar and get factory mags without the markings. I thought some company named PMI or some such made great aftermarket mags too?
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

How about PMI mags? Are they still being made? They always seemed to be the best aftermarket mags for the Mini.

PMI has been gone for many years. Their's were considered some of the best. Ruger themselves stopped making the high caps for the public in 1989. There have been some LEO Ruger ones available recently, but Ruger has not made any for the public in over 16 years. I still have some of the PMI and the NON-LEO Ruger factory mags available. They are of course more than the LEO marked ones however. 0
