How accurate were these old 22 bolt rifles? It has a *e11uva rear sight on it!

    Hello this was one of many models of 22 rifles that remington made in the hay day of every kid and their dad shooting 22's . They made single shot 510, clip repeter 511, tube repeter 512 with light target 521 and med target 513 to name a few. IMHO one of the most pleaseing to the eye actions and bolt handle. Like most 22's they don't have the best barrel beding but some shoot very good groups enjoy.

    I can shoot sub 2" groups at 200 yards with my 512. One ragged hole at 50 is no problem. Relatives with target winchester 52's curse me when I get one of the old remingtons out of the safe.

    I have a 512x and it will outshoot my Winchester 69s(which are my favorite). One inch at 50 yards. I also used to have a regular 512 which was grooved and it was extremely accurate. They are good solid guns(especialy with the grooved receiver)

    Thanks for the info. Sounds like a decent rifle. Though I wish it was the model with the grooved receiver. I doubt the receiver could be tapped and custom bases made without great expense!!
