Help with Colt New Service
I'm looking for a hammer for a Colt New Service 45 ACP revolver. I'm assuming this is an early model because the hammer has a fixed firing pin, one piece with the hammer not the pinned on type. The number stamped on the receiver is 1194. Anyone know where I could find one? Thanks guys.

Shooter,the firing pin should be removable for replacement. Here's a link to the schematic and parts list.

Gun Parts doesn't have it nor does Popperts. The firing pin is not nor was it ever removable on this model so I figured it was an early version. It was repairable but it took quite a bit of fiddling and since we do see this type at times, though rarly I'd like to find a couple for spares. All the schematics found show it as removable but some of them weren't so I thought I'd check here. thanks. 0 -

This may or may not help you. I had the same problem, was able to find a replacement on Ebay. Took about a week of browsing the "gunparts" ads.
