38 special length

im loading 38 specials up with 158gr semi wad cutters and i was wondering before i press them what should be the total length after i press them im pretty sure it is 1.55 but im just checking to be safe.

  Hello 155 is the listed max OAL so this should be ok. In my opinion a revolver with a rimmed cartridge OAL.is not critical and if shooting in a pistol chambered for 357 mag you could seat out longer . There will be some slight pressure changes but not anything to worry about.

  The 158 SWC bullets generally have a crimp groove. This will give you a satisfactory overall length. I just measured several of the many hundreds that I loaded earlier today 1.512.
  When I do switch bullets I just adjust seater die to seat to the crimp groove.
