Rem. 760 .223

I have a 760 in a .223 and the receiver is pitted I want to know if I can put this barrel on another receiver and if it matters what caliber the receiver is off of also I have a .225 M70 barrel what winchester action do I need?? Thanks

  You can put the 760 barrel on any 760 receiver. But keep the bolt with the same barrel so no headspace problems come up. I would look for a receiver in the same serial number range so it would not be readily
  noticed that it was changed.
  Model 70, any post 64 receiver with push feed bolt, or use the original bolt.
