Hi Guys any input on the Swift Scopes thinking of step'n out of the box an try something different saw a Swift mod.669 about$2 hnr'd
think'n it will be used on a .308 maybe a .223 bolt gun all coments welcome Thanks RG [:)]

If you are asking is Swift one of those unknown makers who produces scopes better than Leupold for half the price, the answer is no. They do produce a scope that is very decent FOR ITS PRICE RANGE. It will compare well with other scopes at about the same price. In that sense it is unknown to most. 0 -
The few Swift scopes I've ever messed with were pretty decent scopes. If you look around you should be able to find one a bit cheaper. 0 -

Over the years I have owned several Swift 'scopes. For the $$$$ they are a pretty good 'scope. I currently have two of them. Suggestion,,,
look at the ones in the red and black box. I think they are better than the ones in the black & blue box. Never had one malfunction.0 -
I have 4 of them in pistol scopes they work fine even on my 15" encores 3006/308/270/7mm08

I have a 3x9x40 that I have used hard for about 15 years with no problems.It has always been clear and held zero from year to year.For what I use it for(whitetail hunting)I could not ask for a better scope at any price. 0 -
I would definitely recommend Swift scopes. I have several of them on various longarms and have NEVER had a problem with any of them. Excellent clarity and light transmission. They have a lifetime warranty - just call them and get a return authorization, ship the old one and they will send you a new one. I know this because sometime back I bought a damaged one at a yard sale for $3.00 (knowing of their policy), sent it back and they sent me a new one. Unless something happens to change my mind, these are the scopes I will continue to buy.

Swift is in the same boat with tasco and simmons they are low-end cheap scopes and you will get what you pay for. If you are looking for a good low priced scope check out the Nikon Prostaff they are a great deal and hold up well........but its no Leupold[;)]

While Swift scopes are relatively low priced scopes, they should not be compared to Simmons and Tasco in quality as equivalent scopes. They are much better scopes. Swift scopes are more equivalent to Weaver Scopes. For the money Weaver and Swift are the better low-end scopes available. Tasco and Simmons are not worth the money spent on them.
Here is how I would rate the more common riflescopes available to most of us.
1. Tasco and Simmons are low price and have low quality optics. These scopes are good enough for 22 rifles, but not good as a high-powered riflescope due to numerous reticle failures. Prices range from $50 to $250.
2. Swift and Weaver are low price and have moderate quality optics. I can comfortably recommend them for use on high-powered rifles and handguns. Prices range from $125 to $300. IMHO, I believe the Weaver V-9 3X9-38mm scope is one of the best scopes for the money under $150.
3. Nikon and Leupold are moderately priced scopes and have good quality optics. I recommend these scopes for most any application. Prices start at $300 and go up depending on tube diameter, reticles, and focus adjustment ability.
4. Zeiss and Leitz are moderately high priced scopes with good to excellent quality optics. I highly recommend these as they are favorites of mine, and I own several. These scopes have great reticles, eye releif, and have excellent optics for the money. Prices begin around $450 and go up depending on tube diameter, reticles, and focus adjustment ability.
5. Swarovski and Schmidt Bender are high priced scopes with excellent quality optics. I only own a couple. I wish I could afford more, they are worth the money. Prices start around $900 and go up. If you can't afford these scope at least go to a gun scope and ask to have a look through one, unbelievable. You owe it to yourself to see what truly great optics look like.
Of course there are other scope makers, but these categories about say it all for the most common. I have never used a Steiner scope, but have heard good things about them. I suspect they are equivalent to Nikons and Leupolds.

wow look at all the posts thank you all for the replys an info since my 1st post the screen has never changed ???? anyways its to late i order Sat Morn... a Swift 6-18x44mm Premier Matte so i'm either stuck or made the rite decision? will find soon as to better quality i have a Redfield accu trac AO & a Leupold SF, highend scopes also cheaper Bushnell ScopeChief an Tasco Sniper an have had No trouble with any just wanted to try something different what i have learned is about head movement [AO] when i read about the Swift is watt made me want to try it.. Having other opions like all of you have always helps in those final decisions i see most here have had some dealings w/ Swift i hope i have as much luck thanks Rich G,......

You will be very happy with the scope. I have two of them and they are excellent scopes. To compare them to Tasco and Simmons is a disservice, they are not in the same league. Tasco and Simmons are very low end scopes, Swift is a mid level scope, reasonably priced and very sharp, clear and bright. For all of those who worship at the Leupold altar, keep on paying high, inflated prices for your scopes.
