Tec 9 firing when releasing bolt
My newly aquired tec is firing when cocking back and releasing bolt. Any ideas?

Firing pin could be bent or stuck. Remove the bolt and firing pin and clean and inspect the parts.

Ive experienced several mis-fires, or duds? the pin leaves a dent in the primer, but doesn't fire. i don't like removing a bullet that has been struck but did not go off.
Once when letting go of the bolt, it fired 3 rounds instantly. It has also given me a few multi round bursts when pulling the trigger. Somethings wrong in there. I think it's time to go to a gunsmith. I bought this gun about a year ago used, and just fired for the first time yesterday. Something must be wore down inside it.0 -

Since you bought it used there is always the chance that you have a "modified" sear.

A modified sear is one that has been filed down by a ghetto gunsmith to facilitate full auto or burst fire. The Tec-9 was pretty easy to modify in that way, although it affects the reliability substantially

Intratec guns are garbage. I have two. They are known for poor construction and jamming. Just look intimiating. Very popular among dope dealers. 0
