Winchester 75 Target
Does anyone know of any rifles with a serial # lower than 90? I recently acquired this one, and I think it is one of the oldest still around. Thanks.

Are you referring to the Model 75 only? If not, I had my hands on Winchester Model 1895 serial number 27 (an octagon barreled 38-72 W.C.F.) just a few weeks ago at the Big Reno Show. I also fondled Winchester Model 1885 serial number 114 at the same show[^][:p]. It is very likely that the Cody Firearms Museum has a Model 75 with either serial number 1 (or one that is real close to it).

That's really low, but I'd bet that most of the 89 earlier ones are still shooting. Mine is a first year serial #1005 1938 model and it's in way better shape than I am, and I'm a 1939 model. [:D]

I found this rifle a couple of years ago at an estate sale with everthing in the picture for $300.00. Redfield peep sights with boxes and inserts, three 10 and 1 5 round original magazines, Lyman 5A 8X scope and oh yeah..The rifle. I love garage sales and gunshows.[:p]

Well Mr. Simpson, I am a long time Winchester Model 52 and 75 shooter/collector. Outside of a Museum, such as the Buffalo Bill in Cody, Wyoming or the Winchester Collection I doubt very much if you'll ever find one with a serial number lower than yours. I have never seen a 75 with a serial number that low EVER in private hands. (Could you send me a pic?) Thats 1st or 2nd MONTH production and depending on the condition would be worth a PREMIUM price.I am curious if there are any lower out there, that can back it up with a pic.If you have one lower, please let me know and send a pic! thanks!
