Ok im going to visit the states.

Hi all i have decided to take a break in the united states in feb 2006, has anyone got any recomendations as to which state to visit.
I want to have a go on a browning 50 cal machine gun teck9 and walther p99 (as these came out after the ban and i never got a chance to fire one).

    virginia, texas, georgia, and if you have time, my favorite state of all west virginia. it is by far the best.

    I'm not an expert, but i did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

    Last time I was in Vegas there was a bunch of places in and around town that rented selective-fire weapons. Bring plenty of dinero, it aint cheep.

    Also remember that the US is a bit larger than Endland. Travel takes more time here. From where I live in New Mexico to Denver Colorado is about the same distance as from Lands End to Hadrians Wall. Most Europeans are simply not prepared for the size of the states.

    The Grand Canyon- Petrified Forest, and Painted Desert are in Arizona and the Senora Desert will be beautiful that time of year and Quail season will still be on in early Feb. We have great Indian Ruins and Los Vages is close. Drop me a line if you come and I will give you a tour and a hunt.

    If you get to the Arizona area let me know, I don't have an M2 but I got plenty of toys that you're welcome to test drive. I have a few friends in Sheffield and they almost had a coronary when they found out what civilians are allowed to own here[8D]

    February is a brutal month in the north and east. Even north Texas can be 20 degrees below zero and 6 feet deep in snow. I'd fly over all that and go clear to Arizona, Nevada, and Southern California if I were you. Then fly back the extreme southern route, and visit Tucson, El Paso, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, fish the Gulf and off-load in Florida. Florida is a great place to meet some more Gun Broker friends and get in another couple of days of shooting before you have to return to "lock-down"[:D]in Great Britain.

    Find out the dates of the SHOT show. I think it may be in Feb. next year and if that's the case, try to include it in your trip. I don't think you'll see anything like it anywhere else and it's slowly fading away here! If you find yourself near Cincinnati, I'll be glad to put you up for a day or two, but as some of the other folks have mentioned, the weather here in Feb. is often too bad to do much shooting, and I don't happen to have any of the specific toys you mentioned.     Check out this site. The Scottsdale Gun Club is a first class facility. They should offer all the shooting opportunities you're looking for. February weather in Arizona is moderate.

    Check with Dragon Mans just east of Colorado Springs, he's got a lot of different full auto weapons to fire. Weather in Colorado can be sunny and 60 and in less than 8 hours be in the teens that time of year, nearly always sunny though cold or not.[;)]

    Probably the last month of the year I'd choose to do any real sight seeing.
