I need your opinion
went to the rage today with my colt anaconda, the rear sight had to be adjusted all the way to the right in order to keep the groups centered.
Anything wrong with the gun?sights?

    the nut behind the trigger a little loose?[:D]. seriously, I have to do the same thing on most of my handguns. a lot depends on how you hold the pistol and how you let it recoil.

    Sometimes, Colt revolvers made in the late 80's and early 90's for some reason didn't quite get the usual "Colt Quality Control" during their manufacture. In more than one case, I have come across several Anacondas, King Cobras, and a few other models whose barrel when threaded into the frame, was left either slightly right or left of "sight center" which then requires more than usally expected adjustment of the rear sight one way or the other.

    This is not a problem, IF the wind is not blowing to the left, for instance, and you have already used up all the "left" adjustment in order to "center" your shots. Colt would repair these at "no cost" back then, but I doubt you could get much done now days from them. A good gunsmith can machine the barrel or frame as necessary in order to "center" the sight when the barrel is properly tightened to the frame. A tedious task involving considerable time if done properly.

    If I was shooting such a gun as you describe, I would probably have it fixed as I dislike having to provide a "field fix" for something no matter how minor. The other side of the coin is that if you can adjust the sight to provide good shot placement and you still have some further adjustment available, you can ignore it and nothing would be compromised much. Your call on this one.

    I did a google search on the matter and you are right.
    Some of the latest production Colts were rushed out the factory with less attention to detail.
    The gun shoots great with my reloads and cast bullets but it is just weird to have to crank the rear sight all the way to the right. Who knows, maybe just because of this, the collectors value will increase in the future just as a crooked stamp or coin.[:D]
