Rem 7400 shooters

I have been looking at the new ones with the matte finnish in 30-06 how do they shoot? I have an old 740 with a K4 in great shape it soots 3" groups wont do any better or worse.

    The accuaracy of my 7400 is OK, nothing like a bolt action heavy barrel, but good enough to hunt the woods of FL and GA.

    The 7400 was the first semi auto rifle I ever owned and I have taken many deer with it. I have the high gloss walnut model in 30-06 and it will shoot as good as any bolt gun I have ever seen. I killed a deer with it at a lasered 300 plus yards. Mine has been flawless for the past 16 years. I don't think I could ever part with it. One of my favorite guns.

    Years ago I had a 742 in 243 that was a tack driver. I havent heard much about the newer 7400's but I have heard people complaining about Remington products(I got my own about a mountian rifle).

    the new ones, just like the the old ones you have to keep clean or your screwed. i have a model 4 30.06 that is great shape and i havnt used in years which was at the time and probably is now the top of the remington line, if they even make it anymore? im willing to let it go if you are interested. buckkiller58@aol.com.

    I have one in .243 and can consistly hit stationary clay pigeons at 220 yards.

    the 7400 is lots better tham the 742/740 but not perfect. the extractors break easyly and you must keep them clean.
