Price check on a French MAS

SXSMAN
Looking at a french mas 1949/56 . Looks very good , maybe unissued .

4 mags and about 100 rounds of ammo .

Should be able to get for $300 .

Good price ?

Are they good shooters ?

Ammo looks a bit pricey but not over the top .

Need to hear from you guys , thanks SxS

    There are alot of these listed for sale here on GB, so you can compare prices. I tried to insert a link to my MAS search, but it did not work.

    Sounds like a deal to me. Jump on it. I have one that I picked up used with 2 mags and cleaning kit for about $250 but it is in VG condition.
    I have not any problems with it and it shoots great. Lots of fun with it. If you get it you will like it.

    I like mine. You might get the occasional slamfire with civilan ammo and primers, otherwise I can't complain. It's a fairly accurate weapon as well. Just make sure with milsurp ammo, which is corrosive, to get a wet pipe cleaner down the gas tube.

    Thanks for the opinions guys . I'm rather torn . I've told Beachmaster that I was saving for a Garand , but seems like every time a gun comes up and I start saving all over again .

    Make sure it is still chambered in the 7.5 French caliber.Some of them have been rechambered (chamber insert) in 308 caliber and do not operate properly.
