AR15 Lower???

I have a Colt Pre-Ban upper (H-BAR). And need a lower, what should I buy for a lower????

    I bought a complete DPMS lower with 4 position stock form:

    For $199. I'm very happy with it. Only thing it might need would be a lighter Rock River NM trigger.

    If your Colt is not a carbine length? You may want to go with a standard stock if that is that case.

    to hell with colt. go to {elsewhere}.com, get a RRA Rock River Arms lower for $100, give a dealer $20 to get it for you, $10 shipping, and $10 sales tax. Buy a Ciener .22lr unit with the money you don't send to Colt, and have a ball.

    Here is some info:

    Small Hole vs. Big Hole

    Colt owners often refer to having a small or large hole upper receiver (and corresponding lower receiver). Small hole receivers of .250" are the "milspec", but during early production by Colt for the civilian market, they produced rifles utilizing a .315" spec, so as to preclude use of military uppers on civilian lowers. This production lasted until roughly 1993-1994. As a general rule of thumb all Colt "unblocked" lower receivers, are large hole, while pre-ban "blocked" lower receivers represent transition years where occasional variations popped up.
