ccr license

Does anyone here have a ccr license? I'm interested in obtaining one purely on a personal level. Having the freedom to shop and purchase on line would be a plus in my opinion, rather than having to go thru local gun shops and paying their markup for these old relics.

    A C&R license is useful if you buy at least 1 older gun per year. Details can be found at www.atf.treas.gov

    For heaven's sake, do not get a CRFFL!

    You will buy your first gun with it and, just like peanuts, you can't stop. Your savings account will drop; your wife and children will dress in rags, and your eating habits will change so that you have $$ for guns.

    Yes indeed, I do have a Class Type 03 FFL (a.k.a. C&R License). It is very handy when I am travel to various out-of-state gun shows and purchase a pre-WW II Winchester, or when I purchase an old Winnie outside of my home state via an auction.

    It also gets you discounts at suppliers--Midway, etc. You will recoup your $30.00 investment even if you don't ever buy a firearm.

    The ( 2 ) most common FFl's that I have run into over the years have been "0 1's" issued to Federal Firearms licenced retail dealers, and "0 3's" issued to Curio and Relic collectors. I'm not understanding what the difference is that your talking about?

    A Type 03 is a C&R FFL

    A Class 3 is for machineguns, sliencers, etc

    We all might as well be back in the middle ages arguing on how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

    Check out the actual license numbers on the different types of FFL's.

    On Curio and Relic FFL's, the 4th group of numbers from the left side is "03".

    On Dealer FFL's, the 4th group of numbers from the left side is "01".
