S&W 657 41 MAG

I just bought a s&w 657 41mag. The guy I got it from had not cleaned it in a while. So I took the cylinder out and cleaned the gun. After I put it back together it is hard to get the cylinder open again. It seems to work fine but when you push the release button you have to force the cylinder open. Any ideas

  does the cylinder rotate freely when dry fired? Take the screw back out that holds the crane in. Does the cylinder open freely now? My bet is that there s crud built up in the hole that the crane drops into. brush it out with solvent and patches, or blow it out with compressed air or brake parts cleaner.

  Make sure the Ejector rod is screwed in all the way also. This can cause the problem you seem to have.
