Marlin Golden 39A Mountie
The Marlin DOM site says mine was made in 1961. Anyone know how many were made? I saw one on GB auction that the seller said was "rare" and that only 500 were made.[img][/img]

OK, I admit I screwed up! About 25 years ago I refinished the stock of my first 22 (1961) with Birchwood Casey tru oil. Put several coats on and it shined like a new penny. My question is, is there ANY way to get the stuff off and get close to the original finish back? I'd appreciate some advice.

They are too different guns yours is a plain mountie model the one you refer to as only being 500 made is the 90th anniversary model too complete different guns. 0
