i recently bought a box of .32 smith & wesson ammo manufactured by remington, i tryed fitting them in the clip of my .32 guardian and they wouldnt fit, Why is that?

A gun question- Friends have a .32 Smith & Wesson revolver. They have a box of shells which is labeled ".32 S & W Long". Are all .32s the same, or is there a standard .32, and a .32 long? Can either be fired in a .32 revolver? 0 -
Just my WAG, but you probably got .32 S&W ammo for a .32ACP?

I'm sure trap is correct. The .32 S&W cartridge is design-specific designation for a rimmed *revolver* cartridge.
Virtually all commercial firearms are marked to identify the chambering. If you are not *certain* what the term means, by all means determine it with absolute confidence before you load the first round. In this case, it is likely a physical possibility, but it is not with other cartridges with somewhat similar names or configurations . . . and the results can be catastrophic !! This is an important lesson you've had for no pain or significant loss (you can re-sell the ammo at some point). You might not be so lucky next time.
Don't mean to be so "preachy," but stories like this scare the bejesus out of me. Came upon a guy in the woods many years ago cursing up a storm because he couldn't get his ".30 caliber" cartridges to fit in his ".30 caliber" rifle. Opposite situation from yours - he had .30-06 rounds which didn't work too well in the .30 Winchester M94 he was totting. Paid him the $4 - $6 he'd invested in the ammo (I said it was many years! [;)]) and told him to get the Hell out of my woods - it was my land.
